A Complete Practice Session Every Day
A short practice when you wake up and go to sleep. Two online practice sessions (one morning and one evening) guide you, step-by-step, into a deeper relationship with the Buddha’s teachings. Mindfulness instructions, which offer different ways to integrate the contemplations into your daily life.
Start on your own, or in a Facilitated Group
We are now offering the opportunity to study, reflect and meditate on the Introduction, First Excellence and Second Excellence along with fellow students. Explore the material at a deeper level together, ask questions and learn from the collective wisdom of others on the path. The group will meet bi-weekly under the welcoming guidance of two trained facilitators, who are Third Excellence practitioners.

The TTE program follows a progression through the three Excellences, in sequence:
Introduction to the Triple Excellence
The free 12-day Introduction to Tara’s Triple Excellence is a course that will you a sense of the scope of the entire TTE course. You will be introduced to core concepts of Buddhist philosophy, meditation and history. You will experience the pattern of daily practice, following the teaching and meditation videos (or as audio only) each day. Finishing this, you will be ready for The First Excellence.
The First Excellence
Fundamental Mind Training
In the First Excellence, the Theravada Path, we build the foundation for all future practices. Step by step we learn about the suffering and the flaws of samsara. We acknowledge some uncomfortable aspects of life and start taking them into our hearts. Using the Theravada point of view, we discover the causes of our negative emotions and strive to abandon harmful beliefs and habits.
The Second Excellence
The Bodhisattva Path of Love & Insight
Having completed the First Excellence, we continue with the Second Excellence, the Mahayana Path, in which we expand the scope of our mind and heart through developing impartial loving kindness and compassion. The meditation trainings dissolve rigid selfishness, and make the mind calmer and kinder. With the skills accumulated over the months of contemplations, we come to understand that our illusory emotions can be easily transformed.
The Third Excellence
The Secret Path of the Tantras
Next, in the Third Excellence, we meet the mystical world of the Tantrayana Path where training is combined with profound meditation instructions, Tara sadhanas, the traditional preliminary practices and more. The Tantrayana has uniquely effective meditation techniques including: visualization, mantra recitation, devotion, and Guru Yoga, which are explained in precise detail. These are the tools we use to realize that the true essence of negative emotions is the wisdom of realization.
