Sadhanas and Prayers

A Treasury of Blessings – The Liturgy of Shakyamuni

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, Drubpon Lama Tenzin Sangpo, Khenpo Pema Namgyal

Description

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche highly esteems A Treasury of Blessings, a profound sadhana composed by Ju Mipham Rinpoche, and consistently encourages everyone to practice it—reciting the dharani (Tadyatha Om Muné Muné Maha Munayé Soha), followed by at least five to ten minutes of meditation. Here you will find the sadhana chanted in the traditional way we are encouraged to practice it, with Tibetan subtitles, Tibetan phonetics, and an English rolling translation to follow along. The initial chant and the introductory teaching are both offered by Khenpo Pema Namgyal, and you can also find the text available for download there.

The second part, called Approaching the Buddha, was recorded during the Annual Fall Seminar, 2019 in Kathmandu. Lama Tenzin Sangpo, across 7 sessions, progressively elaborates on sadhana practice—especially focusing on The Treasury of Blessings—detailing how pure motivation, correct posture, devotion, and the union of samatha and vipashyana are vital to meaningful practice. He guides students through the stages of preparing, visualizing, and stabilizing meditation, offering practical methods to overcome obstacles and emphasizing that the ultimate aim is to realize the inseparability of appearance and emptiness. The series culminates in a powerful teaching and guided session with Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, who deepens the focus on compassion (karuna) and emptiness (śūnyatā) as inseparable foundations for authentic practice and personal awakening. He reinforces that realization arises through a balanced path of devotion, inquiry, and sustained meditative training.
