Welcome to the Second Excellence ~ Module 3
Through developing the insight of perfectly understanding the true nature of phenomena, samsaric existence is shattered into pieces. While loving kindness, compassion and the first five paramitas are indispensable for advancing on the path, unless we have developed wisdom, enlightenment will be out of reach.
Just as rivers empty in the sea, the paramitas, when seized by wisdom, will lead to omniscience. Wisdom is the eyesight through which the first five paramitas gain clarity and thus lead us to enlightenment. With the addition of wisdom they also gain their true name, for paramita means to have “gone to the other shor”’ or “transcendent.”
Here we will train in investigating outer perceived objects, the inner perceiving mind, and the essence of mind, taking as support Lama Shabkar’s spontaneous songs, known as the Flight of the Garuda. His songs of realization will bring us awareness of the natural open space-like nature of our mind.
