Description

A four-day interdisciplinary summit exploring the timely and profound theme of “Buddhism and AI.”

Bringing together scholars, technologists, and contemplative practitioners, this collaborative summit gathers leading voices engaged in research and active development in this emerging field. Together, they explore how Buddhist philosophy and practice can illuminate the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.

Over the past 2,500 years, Buddhist traditions have continually engaged with new cultural and technological developments in the service of expanding human understanding and potential. Today, as AI reshapes the boundaries of intelligence, agency, and identity, Buddhism offers a rich resource for reflecting on what it truly means to be human.

This summit addresses some of the most pressing questions of our time:
How do emerging AI technologies challenge our notions of consciousness, personhood, and human capability?
What ethical frameworks can guide the development and use of AI?
And how can contemplative wisdom traditions help orient these transformations toward genuine benefit?

Through dialogue, debate, and reflection, participants will engage with key themes, including:

  • Mind, Consciousness & What It Means to Be Human
  • Attention, Practice, Mental Training
  • Agency and Alignment
  • Envisioning the Future

Each day includes two panel discussions with presentations, and interactive dialogue. Additional sessions might be added spontaneously.
