Who developed Tara’s Triple Excellence Program, and why?

Tara’s Triple Excellence was developed by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. His impetus for creating this online meditation program was to provide authentic teachings and a support structure for students, with an interest in the Buddhist path, to follow in their daily practice at home. Many students of Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, as well as other Buddhist practitioners found that after attending retreats, upon coming home they regress, losing what they had learned and experienced. Without ongoing daily practice and reinforcement, it is all too easy to forget and personal gains achieved can dissipate. Just as musicians and athletes must practice daily, so too must those seeking to change themselves from within. Rinpoche conceived of and developed this program so that those already on their path toward awakening could continue to make progress by building upon and enhancing their prior learnings.

Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche developed this online meditation program incrementally. In order to assess how the program would be received, program development was an iterative process. Feedback was solicited from its early participants, with adjustments and improvements made as needed. The program continues to grow with users found in every corner of the globe. Why? We believe that TTE has filled an unmet need for the many seeking daily learning and practice. It has resonated with those seeking a better life perspective through the Tibetan Buddhist path.

With the “green light” of enthusiastic community support, Lama Tenzin tirelessly focused on the sequence of daily teachings under the guidance of Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. The foundational underpinnings of every TTE lesson is an embodiment of the wisdom of Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. We are grateful to Lama Tenzin who serves as the main source of knowledge and information for the contemplations. He has personally conducted all research and has carefully distilled the teachings of Rinpoche. The course materials were written by Heidi Koppl, editor in chief. She has volunteered countless hours in this tremendous undertaking.
