How to Conduct Your Own Retreat
Registration to participate online in How to Conduct Your Own Retreat is open!
This is a unique opportunity to learn from Drubpon Lama Tenzin Sangpo how to conduct a retreat by ourselves. The aim is to empower our participants to gain knowledge and confidence to practice in retreat on their own. Whether practicing the Outer Tara Sadhana or their own choice of sadhana, participants will benefit from the teachings and advice. This retreat is open to everyone!
The registration includes:
- Access to two live sessions streamed daily via Zoom (in British Summer Time):
10:00-12:00 Practice session
14:00-15:00 Teaching session
- Please note that on August 23 we will start with the teaching session at 14:00 BST.
- Recordings will be available a few hours later, so you can participate live or watch at your convenience.
- The opportunity to pose questions both by email and via the Zoom live chat.
- Additional materials such as retreat notes and instructions to set up your shrine
- The Outer Tara sadhana text and notes, for those choosing that practice.
Please, note that this retreat is not focused on a specific sadhana. While text and notes for practicing the Outer Tara Sadhana will be provided, you are welcome to base your practice sessions on a different sadhana of your choice. We recommend selecting a text you are familiar with, as we won't be offering support for the specifics of other texts.
Please note that for this event to become an authentic retreat, practitioners need to complete four main practice sessions every day, along with the teaching session. If your practice sessions are less than one hour each, consider planning six sessions of practice instead of four. We suggest scheduling your sadhana sessions as follows: the first before breakfast, the second before lunch, the third before dinner, and the fourth after dinner.
If possible, we recommend aligning your schedule with the live sessions with Drubpon Lama Tenzin. If that is not possible, you can watch and practice with the recordings.
Access to live-streamed sessions and recordings:
After registration, you will receive a confirmation email with the link to the course, which will become active on August 16, and will contain the link to the Zoom sessions, as well as all the additional materials and access to the recordings. It will also include a Slack link. Slack is a messaging platform that the TTE community uses to stay connected. From August 16 to 19, the TTE team will receive questions on Slack and at retreat2024@tarastripleexcellence.org about conducting your own retreat. These questions will be collected, organized by theme, and presented to Drubpon Lama Tenzin to address during the first days of teachings. Once the retreat starts, there will still be opportunities to pose questions, but we will follow a first-come, first-served basis as best we can. This is a great reason to enroll in the retreat before the 16th!
Registration
Registration for the retreat will remain open from August 5 to 22, 2024.
The recordings will remain accessible until September 9, 2024.
The suggested donation for the 5-day retreat is $80. However, if this amount exceeds your budget, you may choose to contribute $40. Conversely, if you are in a position that allows you to offer additional support to other members of the sangha, a donation of $120 would be greatly appreciated.
It is solely through the generosity of our community that each TTE event can be offered with a flexible suggested donation. Together, let's ensure that the Dharma remains accessible to all who have a sincere interest in practicing!
