Establishing Appearances as Divine

Following Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche’s request, Heidi Koppl will reflect and lead us in discussion on the reasons why, according to the Vajrayana, all appearances are seen to be pure and divine. We will take a close look at the 11th century Nyingma master Rongzom’s treatise on this topic. We will reflect on questions such as whether appearances are timelessly pure, or if they only become pure through transformation. Likewise, we will ponder the benefits of pure perception–the most crucial mind state of the Vajrayana. Best if you have some degree of experience with the Vajrayana for participation. The sessions will be rich and interactive, with time for questions, reflection, and conversation.

Mag. Heidi Koppl is a translator of Tibetan language and editor in chief of Tara’s Triple Excellence Program. She has studied with Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and authentic teachers in the Tibetan scholarly tradition at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery since a young age. Right now she resides at Gomde Pyrenees, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche’s international retreat, working on online meditation programs, helping with the three year retreat projects and doing a few retreats here and there.
